Conflux (CFX) reveals its v2.5.0-testnet hardfork, urging node operators to upgrade before March 3 to avoid protocol incompatibility. The upgrade includes a crucial security fix.
Conflux (CFX), a blockchain network known for its innovative approach to scalability and security, has announced a significant upgrade with the release of its v2.5.0-testnet. This hardfork is scheduled to occur before the network reaches epoch number 208160000, estimated around March 3, 2025, according to the Conflux Forum.
Security Fix and Upgrade Details
The v2.5.0-testnet release addresses a critical security issue, emphasizing the importance for all node operators to upgrade promptly. The upgrade process involves replacing the current ‘conflux.exe’ file with the new version provided in the v2.5.0-testnet package and then restarting the node. Operators are advised to complete this upgrade within two days to ensure seamless network participation.
Implications of Delaying the Upgrade
Operators failing to upgrade before the specified epoch will face the need to delete all existing data and restart their nodes. Delayed upgrades could lead to nodes becoming incompatible with the updated Conflux protocol, potentially disabling key functionalities such as block synchronization and mining.
Community Acknowledgment
Conflux extends its gratitude to its community and developers for their ongoing support and contributions. The collaborative efforts have been pivotal in steering the network towards enhanced performance and security. This hardfork represents another step in fortifying Conflux’s infrastructure and maintaining its commitment to a robust blockchain ecosystem.
Node operators are encouraged to download the latest version of Conflux v2.5.0-testnet to stay aligned with the network’s developments and ensure continued participation in the evolving Conflux ecosystem.
