The Federal Reserve (FED) spokesperson: "High-quality" inflation report hides two major concerns, last year's low base effect needs to be cautioned.

Gate News bot news, "The Federal Reserve (FED) spokesperson" Nick Timiraos stated that today's inflation report, which is considered "top-notch," should pay attention to two potential issues:

Analysts expect that with the "Liberation Day" tariffs coming into effect, the rise in commodity prices will accelerate in May (especially in June);

Given that inflation has cooled somewhat by mid-2024, the year-on-year comparison base itself is no longer advantageous (Note: The U.S. core PCE price index for April recorded an annual rate of 2.5%, the lowest since March 2021).
