Jin10 data reported on August 8 that during the Israeli Security Cabinet meeting held on the evening of August 7 local time, IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi warned the government ministers present that "if the IDF proceeds with a full military occupation of the Gaza Strip, it will endanger the lives of Israeli hostages, and the IDF cannot guarantee that the relevant individuals will not be harmed." Halevi also expressed broader concerns about expanding military operations, warning that it would "come at the cost of IDF soldiers' lives, weaken Israel's military resources, and lead to a serious humanitarian crisis."
