Eurogroup President: The EU will strengthen tracking of encryption transactions and include them in AML regulation.
According to Decrypt, Paschal Donohoe, chairman of the Eurogroup and Minister of Finance of Ireland, said at the European Anti-Financial Crime Summit that the European Union is advancing the new Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR), which intends to require crypto asset service providers to record the sender and receiver of transactions to achieve transparent supervision of crypto transfers. The new rules, which will be implemented from July 2027, prohibit anonymous wallets and privacy coins, and require platforms to identify users who use self-custodial wallets.
