Morgan Stanley: Hedge funds re-enter the Chinese stock market due to optimistic sentiment surrounding trade negotiations.

According to Mars Finance, Morgan Stanley stated that hedge funds increased their bullish bets on the Chinese stock market last week, particularly among American hedge funds, hoping for progress in the China-U.S. trade negotiations. In a report released last Friday, Morgan Stanley noted that after seeing encouraging signs that China and the U.S. might reach a trade agreement, American hedge funds "reinvested" in China, buying stocks traded on U.S. exchanges and stocks traded on the A-share market. The bank indicated that, in contrast, hedge funds reduced their positions in most Asian regions led by Thailand, Hong Kong, India, and Australia.
