A Pantheon Macroeconomics Chief UK economist, Rob Wood, said in a report that he expects the overall UK inflation rate to reach 3.0% in April 2025 and maintain this level in the summer of that year. He said: "We expect core commodity prices to rise, reflecting an increase in costs." Wood said that the UK inflation rate may start to slow down from October 2025. The service industry inflation rate may remain close to current levels for the rest of 2024 and slow down to 4.3% by the end of 2025.
